CLE OFFERED*
Kevin Estevez is a partner at Holden Willits, PLC. His practice focuses on construction law and business litigation. He has represented clients across the entire spectrum of the construction industry, including owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, sureties, and real estate developers. Kevin is former president of the Scottsdale Bar Association, a charter fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America, and the author of Arizona Construction and the Law—a legal blog providing an informative look at construction law in Arizona.
The law plays an important role in the construction industry. It establishes principles and general rules that allow for the smooth operation of construction projects of all sizes. Kevin will provide an overview of these principles and rules – defining important concepts, identifying parties’ rights and responsibilities, and highlighting pitfalls. Kevin will address issues that arise before, during, and after construction, including contract drafting issues, performance and payment issues, mechanics liens and bond claims, and warranties.
