RSVP DEADLINE IS THE FRIDAY BEFORE THE LUNCHEON, AT NOON. In order to receive the pre-paid luncheon price of $30 for law student members/$35 for all other members/$40 for non-members, you MUST pre-pay with your credit card on the website BY THE RSVP DEADLINE. DO NOT MAIL IN CHECKS. If you make a reservation but do not pay on the website with your credit card, you must pay an additional $5 at the door ($35 for law student members/$40 for all other members/$45 non-members) by check or cash. After the registration deadline has passed, we do not take additional reservations. However, you may attend without a reservation as a walk-in, provided we have space. Capacity and spaces available are listed on the registration page. Walk-ins must pay $35 for law student members/$40 for all other members/$45 non-members, check or cash. Our capacity is limited, so we strongly recommend that you register by the deadline and prepay on the website using a credit card in order to ensure that you will have a place to sit and your requested meal.
Cancellation Policy:
You may cancel without penalty up until the registration deadline. If you cancel BEFORE the registration deadline, you will receive a credit on your Scottsdale Bar account, which can be applied to a future event. We do not give refunds.

If you prepay for the luncheon and cancel AFTER the registration deadline of NOON on the Friday before the luncheon, we cannot provide credits or refunds.

Reservations that are not prepaid by the registration deadline, and are either cancelled after the registration deadline or “no shows,” will be billed at the at-the-door price.

We are required to guarantee the number of meals to Gainey Ranch Golf Club, and we pay for those meals even if you must cancel after the registration deadline.

Cellphones represent one of the fastest-changing areas of legal practice. Mobile device evidence is more important than ever, thanks to the rapid evolution of the technology and the way this evidence is treated by the courts. This presentation provides up-to-date guidance on the application of cellphone forensics in litigation, investigations, and other legal matters.

Brian Chase is a Director of Digital Forensics at ArcherHall, an expert witness, and an adjunct professor of law. Before joining ArcherHall, he was a practicing attorney and the owner of Chase Technology Consulting, a legal technology consulting firm providing digital forensics and e-discovery expertise.

Mr. Chase has a diverse education and work background. He spent years working as a network administrator for the University of Arizona. He has a Management and Information Systems degree from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona, a top ranked program in the country. Mr. Chase went on to earn a law degree, also from the University of Arizona. He has worked with various sized law firms both in an IT and legal capacity. He has consulted with firms on their use of technology within the office, and has provided expert testimony in criminal and civil matters ranging from misdemeanors to murder to medical malpractice.

Mr. Chase has published and spoken on various technology related issues impacting law firms as well as parties in the civil and criminal justice system. He teaches various topics regarding law and technology, and digital forensics and evidence, at a variety of legal and technical conferences. He was honored by the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Arizona Daily Star with a “Tucson’s 40 Under 40 Award”, which recognizes young leaders who are making an impact in the community with their professional and charitable work.

*The State Bar of Arizona does not approve or accredit CLE activities for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education requirement. This activity may qualify for up to 1.0 hour toward your annual CLE requirement for the State Bar of Arizona, including 0.0 hour of professional responsibility.


When you register, you will be asked to indicate your meal choice: simply type REGULAR or VEGETARIAN (note the descriptions below).  If you require a special meal other than the regular or vegetarian selections due to dietary restrictions, please type in your requirements.

VEGETARIAN/VEGAN MEAL:  Grilled vegetable Napoleon with green tomatillo sauce

Waldorf salad (lettuce, apples, grapes, celery, citrus, mayonnaise dressing), warm rolls and butter, and poached pear with raspberry and chocolate sauce

1.  The guest must be eligible for membership in the Scottsdale Bar Association.  See www.scottsdalebar.org, click on Membership Information, then Membership Categories.

2.  The guest cannot be a former Scottsdale Bar member.

3.  The guest cannot have attended lunch for free in the past.

4.  The member must attend the luncheon with the guest.

5. The member must register him/herself for the luncheon, then contact Paige Martin at paigemartinesq@aol.com with the guest’s name and email address, and choice of regular or vegetarian meal, so that she can register the guest.  Member registration and the request for guest registration must be completed before the registration cut-off on the Friday before the luncheon, at noon.

6.  The member can only invite one guest to any luncheon.

7.  The member is responsible for following up with his/her guest after the luncheon to invite the guest to join Scottsdale Bar.

8.  The Board of Directors reserves the right to limit the number of guests attending each luncheon.
