Just because we are stuck at home doesn’t mean that the world doesn’t keep spinning. More than Mexico, Greater Phoenix is a hopping gateway to inbound and outbound deals to LatAm, Canada, Europe, UK and Asia. This includes business clients which cross borders, and sometimes some disputes that cross borders, too. When your client says they have a piece of property in Mexico, or a shareholder in Canada, are licensing technology from the UK, distributing to Belgium or are having a Beijing company manufacture their widgets, don’t be a “deer in the headlights.”  Jon and Mike will help you issue spot and learn words like “apostilles” and “EX-IM Bank Guarantee,” and show you where to go for international due diligence so you can tell your client with confidence:  “our buddy in Turkey checks out – let’s have a beer.” Jon and Mike will share some personal, and crazy, stories about their cross border practices as well.

Mike Patterson regularly advises U.S. and foreign clients in connection with the establishment, structuring, and compliance for international operations, including the establishment of international distribution networks.  Also known as "Miguel" after a decade-long stint living and working in Central America, he reads, writes, speaks, and negotiates in Spanish. In addition, he has done legal work for clients in Canada, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

As the founder and principal of Radix Law, Jonathan Frutkin has significant experience as an attorney, a business executive, and business owner.  Over the course of his career, he has owned a website design business, a software company, a real estate development company, and served as the developer for a national ice cream chain.  Jon's legal practice focuses on providing general counsel, including legal advice on capital formation, mergers and acquisitions, litigation strategy, and intellectual property.  His work includes handling both domestic and international transactions on behalf of his business clients, ensuring that these matters comply with all relevant federal, state, and international laws.

The program will be presented via ZOOM. Instructions will be sent after the registration deadline closes by email.  You must sign into the event using the cell phone and email address you used to register in order for us to track your registration for CLE credit.

If your computer does not have a webcam, you can download Zoom apps for Apple and Android phones and tablets at ZOOM DOWNLOADS .
