All Scottsdale based law firms or practice groups are encouraged to contact Monica Lindstrom at mklindstromlaw@gmail.com and volunteer to staff at least one month during the year for this worthwhile and highly visible community outreach program. Paiute nights are the same night as our luncheon (second Tuesday of the month).
We ask the volunteer attorneys to try to arrive between 5:45 and 6:00 p.m. The clinic starts at 6:00 p.m. There is space for 30 clients to sign up. Volunteers spend roughly 10 minutes with each client, giving them some basic advice and pointing them in the right direction. Sometimes all they need is someone to listen to them. On the busiest nights, volunteers start at 6:00 pm and often leave by 8:30. All 30 spots are not always filled. We like to have 4 to 5 volunteer attorneys each evening.
Volunteers do not have to know every area of law. Most issues deal with simple wills/trusts/probate, contract, landlord/tenant, or custody/divorce. We have some "cheat sheets" and reference materials to help you!
