COVID-19 has changed the way civil trials will be held. During trial, you may be texting your client, who is seated in the back of the courtroom. Social distancing may mean some jurors will be in back of you as well. In addition, the Civil Department Innovation Task Force developed new pilot programs for civil cases. Imagine stipulating to a jury of one! Also, learn about the virtual justice program designed to explore the use of technology in civil cases. You may be doing your next jury trial to a jury viewing you remotely by Zoom.
Civil Department Innovation Task Force: Judge Pamela Gates, Judge Scott McCoy, Judge Chris Whitten, Commissioner David Garbarino, Judge Sam Thumma, Andrew Jacobs, David Rosenbaum, Lance Broberg, Joseph Roth, and Keith Kaplan
