One of six Charter Officers appointed by the City Council, the City Attorney serves as the chief legal advisor to the executive leadership, provides direction, and leadership in the City Attorney’s Office, and manages the Civil, Prosecution and Victim Services divisions in the Legal Department. The incumbent performs professional legal work involving civil litigation and/or criminal cases; and supports administrative and operational programs by assuring the effective, efficient and responsive legal services and needs of the City.
